The Agony and the Ecstasy
We have all heard the terminology ‘the agony and the ecstasy’. We usually hear these words in the world of sports. The agony that a committed athlete goes through. The preparation that he does to master their sport. The learning of the sport. The practice. The time involved. To prepare to compete in their given sport. It may be football, rugby, cricket, tennis, swimming, hockey, golf, whatever their chosen sport is. They go through agonising, gruelling days, weeks, months, years of endeavour. Why do they do it? They enjoy the sport that they are involved in. But they are not going through the agony for fun. They are doing it for the pure joy of the hope of the win. The victory. For the ecstasy of a price well paid.
In our business of network marketing, we are fortunate. We will never pay the price, or have to make the kind of commitment, that an athlete makes to have the victory, to have the joy of winning. However we need also to understand that in building a business there are moments of agony. There are moments of agony when you do anything worthwhile. We recently watched the battle for the Wimbledon crown between Nadal and Federer. We had a glimpse of the effort involved to win. We applauded Nadal for his determination, for never giving up, until he finally won his dream.
We have to make a great commitment to build a multimillion dollar business. Consider the agony and the ecstasy of achieving in this business, Success University, and other network marketing ventures that we do.
“The greater the struggle the greater the prize”. It does not always have to be a struggle but there is a price to pay for success in your business. There is a price to pay for any worthwhile endeavour in life. My wife and I will achieve success. We will succeed because we are not willing to throw in the towel. There are challenges from people we love. There are disappointments from people who we thought would pull through with us. Family withdrawing their support. There will be tough times ahead. There will be struggles but we will carry on.
Network marketing gives ordinary guys a shot at achieving success on a level not possible through a job. It gives an opportunity to help others break though the chains that the system has on us, by buying our freedom. Buying back our time. You have to be willing to concentrate on the rainbow and not on the gold. The pot of gold is there at the end of the rainbow. The pot of gold is every dream that you can even begin to dream. Concentrate on the rainbow. The rainbow is the journey. Concentrate on what you are doing and what you are sharing. Concentrate on how you are growing yourself personally. Concentrate on how you are growing your business. If you want the rainbow you have to be willing to put up with the rain on the way. Without the rain, without the struggles, without the challenges, without those devastating times we will not have the opportunity to change and grow and be what we need to be and what we are supposed to be, to be able to help other people.
Listen to your heart. Listen to your heart. The mind determines what is possible, then your heart surpasses it. Do not settle for less. You do not want to settle for less in life, for yourself, for your family, for your children. If you are married and have a family, you don’t want to settle for less. If you’re reading this, I hope you will make the decision to never settle for less but only to settle for more. There is so much more that you can do, there is so much more to understand, there is so much to learn, so much more to even know, what is within you to be able to share with other people. Believe in yourself just a little more, then for the rest of your life you will never want to settle for less.
The difference between what you can do and what you are capable of doing is the answer to all of your challenges and definitely the answer to all of your dreams. What you are capable of doing, what you are capable of achieving in life is the answer to your dreams in your life and in your business. So determine to make a difference. A difference in your life. A difference in the life of your family. A difference in other peoples’ lives. Whatever your achievements are, your prayer could be to leave this world a little better than when you got here.

Where Does My Money Go?
This blog discusses a most important subject. Money! I will study the handling of money. Am I qualified to teach on this subject because I am broke? What is broke? A school teacher is broke. Another example of a broke person is someone in the military. A fireman is a broke person. Police officers are also examples of broke persons. These are all great public service jobs and a great service is provided in these professions. I recognise that these are good starting points in life. However in addition to this I suggest owning your own business to allow you to grow beyond a profession that leaves you a slave to a system.
Most jobs do not give you a lot of money. For a while I was an administrator. I saw that I could work all my life and retire at 65 and be broke. So I have chosen to set up a network marketing business because it allows anybody that is willing to work hard to establish a million dollar business. I know that I will succeed, because I am ready to do what it takes. To prepare for that there is a need to learn to handle money. Ready?
As you start moving through your business there are some things you want to do. The money is not yours. The money is not mine because I am just a steward of God’s business. This is a principle that needs to be understood. We are just stewards until we die. You come into the world naked. You are going to go out the same way. Broke! The time between these two events is given us to handle that money well.
I have a few suggestions for you as you develop your business. It is important to understand that as you go through these different levels in network marketing the money is going to start coming at you faster and faster. The money is going to come at you in greater quantities. If you handle it properly, even in the early stages, you are not going to have anything to worry about in the future. As you gain levels in a network or affiliate marketing business you gain money. It is not a big deal because it is always there, it is constantly being replenished. You have done the right things from the beginning.
Everybody needs to take ownership of their lives. I have taken full responsibility of my life Take ownership of your business. I have taken ownership of my business. Take ownership of your money. I have taken ownership of my money. You do not need somebody else deciding for you about your money. I make my own financial decisions. You must make those decisions.
This month we have £50 to spend on food for the month between the five of us. Can we make it to the end of the month?’ We often still had one more bill to pay and we would ask ourselves how are we going to do this? The most important thing I am telling you is that you need to know where every single penny of your money goes, in my opinion. If you are not tracking your pennies you do not need to worry about the pounds because you are never going to have them.
It is very important to know how the money is going out so that you know how to handle the money that is coming in. You can’t attack the money that is going out and do a good job of it until you know everything about every single penny that you are paying out. With every single penny that you earn between you and your spouse if you both working right now you need to account for it. Where does it go? Admittedly this is a tall order but I have Quick Books and my bank statements and getting to grips of this. The rule is, if I can account for my money now, then I can account for my millions coming.

The Third Solution
Learning from other people will save you a whole lot of time. This is mentoring or counselling in business. We study and put into practice these principles in network marketing . “ Man I just want to find a couple people that will do this thing.” The better thought process would be, “To find a couple people that will let you help them do this business. To look for some people that would allow you to help them.” See the difference?
Driving in some strange place, there was a sign that said. “Road failure ahead!” I know that we all understand all three words. You understand ‘Road’ you understand ‘failure’ and you understand ‘failure’. What I understood was, “There is something wrong ahead and I don’t know what it is”. In counselling if you are around your mentor then he/she can help you interpret the signs. You can read words but they may not mean anything. If you are willing to ask for help in business a mentor can help you interpret the signs.
A mentor does not necessarily sit down to teach. And you do not necessarily ask questions because many times you don’t even know the question. Being with a mentor we learn things we did not know before. If you are like me a mentor teaches me stuff because I did not come from a place where certain things were taught. I did not come from a wealthy family so I did not understand anything about wealth. I did not know how to handle money. But by being around a wealthy person and seeing how they handle money. By listening to my mentor and hearing him answer questions. Listening to him talk about what he is going to do and what he is doing now helps me understand what it’s about.
It gets exciting, having someone to bounce your thoughts of on, your perfect thoughts. When my thoughts are running around in my head I assure you they are perfect. They are so good. Did you ever say something but on its way out of your mouth you realise that is a daft thing to say and you wish you could catch your words and take them back? When you find a mentor that you can trust, that you can talk to. When you say something stupid they will laugh along with you not at you. You knew it was silly, you will laugh and they will laugh with you. You can get the thought out in the air, sort it out and make it work.
Counselling in business is someone to hear when you think out loud. Do you talk to yourself? With a mentor you can think out loud and he/she can add to it. If your processing is a little different he can help with that too. A mentor helps you read the road signs. In network marketing the roadmap is there. You can see the signs but you may not necessarily read the signs. Having a mentor is to have someone help you read the signs someone to help you interpret what you are seeing, interpret what you are feeling.
The bigger the business the more you need someone. When it is only you it does not really matter. It does not take much to put one person on track. When it is you and three or four more people it takes a little more, because now you have to take time to bring them back too. The worst part is that you have mislead them to start with. As your business gets bigger you are leading a whole organization in a direction that you think is right. In leadership you need to get to the point where you know you are right. It is much easier to talk to a mentor and take an organization in the right direction than to think you are right and take an organization in the wrong direction and then try and bring them back. When you have your mentors advice and you know you are right, firstly you will feel better when you know you are right, you can do it with more enthusiasm because you know everybody is going to be OK. You have the stamp of approval.
Don’t misinterpret this. You do not have to ask your mentor anything, really. You choose to. You choose to because asking a mentor is the best for you and your family and you know it is the best for all the families that are involved in your business. Do you need your mentors approval. A good mentor will never ask you for his approval. You may have a problem and on thinking about a solution you come up with two solutions. You discuss these with your mentor and your mentor comes up with a third and even better solution that you never even thought about. That’s mentorship.

A mentor to learn from
I don’t know what kind of house you grew up in but take a moment to think about it. What did you learn? What is your thought process like? How do you solve problems? I grew up in the country in Zambia. My family was poor. They did not know how to handle money. They had no check book. They had no concept about business. Nothing! Therefore it follows that my thought process is completely devoid of wealth concepts. Yet my parents are people I admire. But they could not teach me about wealth or how to handle money. Now I have a mentor. Someone who has experienced tremendous success and we are all excited to see if our relationship is going to yield a balanced successful family contributing to the world by assisting 1,000s of people achieve wealth through network marketing.
Here is another friend’s story. I’ll call him Angelo. Angelo was taught how to survive not to succeed. Growing up as a child in the city of New York he was taught how to survive. They did not teach much about success. They did not teach much successful living under the conditions. They did not teach much success full living under the circumstances. So Angelo made decisions in a certain way. He learnt how to process things like we all do unintentionally. He did not intentionally learn survival. Angelo had no direction in life accept the direction that was given to him by the people that where raising him. The odds are that is what happened to you as well. This is true about me. Your direction has to do with your thought processing which is acquired through someone else, and this has got you to the place in life that you are.
Now I have chosen change. I have chosen that, ‘I will learn what it takes to succeed’. You can choose to change. That is great. In addition to change we also have to choose to change the way we process things. We have to learn the thought process and learning the problem solving process necessary to create business and wealth.
To illustrate this point I will talk about sport. Everybody has generally been involved in, or watching or knows someone involved in a sport. Whether you are watching an individual or a team you will know they all have coaches. In most cases these people have played the sport and can therefore teach those starting. they can teach them the basics. A coach can make you understand things about the sport that don’t make sense to them. A coach helps them change they process things and how they see things.
In boxing, some of the coaches are not even people who have played the sport. Maybe they box a little but never on a championship level. Here they are they maybe even coaching the champion of the world. They have never been a champion in boxing. They are a champion at coaching because they can get people to see the thought process necessary.
Have you heard of life coaches. Many exceptionally wealthy people have a life coach. This is someone that they talk to not just about finances but about life itself. We have heard of the Kennedy family. There is a Kennedy compound. Once a year there is a big Kennedy compound where many invited guests go to. What do they talk about there? They talk about a little bit about everything. Everybody there has some great experiences in life and they share them. What do you think the children hear? The children are just playing and running around. But they hear also a lot about wealth. They hear a whole lot about handling and processing money. Don’t they? You better believe they do.
On life span is not long enough to make all the mistakes and all the corrections. Therefore it is much easier if we can learn from other people.That is mentorship or counselling. I’ll dig more into it another day.

Mentoring by association
One of the greatest needs in business is the need for a mentor. I am fortunate to have a mentor, a successful man who has built several multimillion dollar businesses who by the grace of God has come into my life and is willing to guide me through the thought process required to achieve the levels of success I have in mind. I also have other mentors that I tap into through books, CDs and DVDs, live seminars and meetings. Another great way to be mentored is through association. This is what I am going to discuss. Success has been studied and we know the attributes that one needs to acquire success. Success can be learned so that guys like me, a poor country boy from Africa, can be just as successful as anybody with all the supposed advantages of life.
Mentoring and counselling has to be learned. This is an area that I have to spend a lot of time on as I had no idea how to set up a million dollar business. In fact everybody has to learn, sometimes a little bit on one subject and a lot on other subjects, or a lot on most subjects like me. Why mentoring? Why counselling? Here is a story.
There was a certain man, a kind of crazy guy who has a lot of fun, nice to be around with, just a great guy. Let’s call him Jack. One day he was at home when his friend Chris called on the phone. Whilst talking to Jack, Chris recognised that something was wrong. He told Jack to go sit down and call his wife. Jack did what Chris told him to do. He sat down and called his wife. By the time Jack’s wife came it was clear the something was terribly wrong. A doctor was called and Jack was taken to hospital and was there for three weeks with a serious heart problem. A flutter in his heart was found, a little rhythm out of line. Because the rhythm was out of line, Jack’s blood pressure was going down and everything was changing
Now Chris was not a doctor yet he quickly established something was wrong and, by arranging for quick action from Jack’s wife, Jack’s life was saved and everything was all right. If that was me, knowing Jack, I would have said “You acting crazy! Go to bed!”. I would not have recognised the serious situation that Jack was in. Now Chris is not a doctor, he is not a nurse; he has absolutely no training in the medical field. But Chris’s father was a doctor who had his practice at home. By Chris being around when Dad was practicing, when Dad was diagnosing or listening to and talking to a patient a lot of information was being fed into Chris without any effort on his part, whether he realized it or not. So that when Chris called Jack, he recognised the symptoms of heart failure and was able to get help quickly.
When we talk of mentoring and counselling you may think that involves the mentor telling you what to do. That is not it at all. The whole thing is about a thought process. My thought process has got me where I am today. That thought process was a learned process. I have learned how to process things in a certain way. Chris grew up around a doctor and he learned how to process and recognise certain things unconsciously. Chris had a doctor to listen to. If you have a father who is a doctor and perhaps a mother who is a doctor too, when they are home and discussing certain conditions in their field there are a lot of things that you will learn automatically. You will have the ability to process certain problems. You will have some background in that area.
If you have a lawyer in your family, then there will be some legal things that will come to you automatically. If you associate with an auto mechanic you will hear a sound in your motor and your mind will recall, you will remember what was said about an engine sounding a certain way. If you have someone in your family climbing that corporate ladder, someone who is in a traditional business, there are certain thing that you are going to learn by simply being around them. You are going
to learn how to process thoughts a certain way and you are going to learn how to solve problems a certain way. That is mentorship.
The same thing holds with wealth. Perhaps you’ve got somebody in your home that is wealthy, maybe Mum and Dad are quite wealthy, maybe you have a wealthy Uncle somewhere. If you are around them then you are going to learn certain things about wealth that other people won’t know. If you are in a middle income family you are going to learn certain things as well. How you process things in a certain way, how you handle money, what you do with it, how you use it, how you solve problems about it, or with it, are all determined by your learned thought process.
The same thing holds true if you are in a low income family. There are certain things you are going to learn about money and wealth. There are certain things you are going to learn about problem solving and other things. What is interesting is that none of them are learned intentionally.

The Good Life
I am only going to here repeat the advice of one of my mentors, Jim Rohn. The greatest value in life is not a bank account. The greatest value in life is not a car. Neither is it a home to live in. The greatest value in life is living a good life. In the midst of all our achieving, building and growing, helping other people be a part of society in the country and the world, being all of this stuff, you’ve got to figure out how to continually live a good life.
Be productive. If you do not produce you will not be happy. Have good friends. The greatest support system in the world is good friends. And you have to work on this. You must not be careless here. Friends are those people who know all about you and still like you. Have spiritual values. Yes, I am a believer. I believe humans, like all creation, were made by God. We are spiritual. As a believer, study, practice and teach. Whatever is valuable to you, study, practice and teach. This builds the foundation that builds the country, that builds the nation, helping us to compete with the nations successfully.

Elton John, “She lived her life like a candle in the wind. Never knowing who to cling to. When the rain set in”. Don’t miss the lyrics, don’t miss the song that nourishes the soul. You can’t describe how brief and fragile life is.
George Harrison, “If not for you the winter I would hold no spring. Couldn’t hear a robin sing. I would not have a clue, if not for you”. Remember the words that describes the experience.
Barbara Strident, “It used to be so natural to talk about forever. ‘Used to be’s’ don’t count any more, they just lie on the floor, till we sweep them away. You don’t sing me any love songs, you don’t bring me any flowers anymore”. Illustrative of all our experiences.
Winston Churchill, “The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end there it is”. Use it. Feast on someone else’s comments. You can stay all night and not think of this.
Don’t miss the good times. Even the small things, don’t miss them. It is part of living a good life. If you live well you will earn well. If you live well it will show up in the texture of your voice. If you live well, it will show up in your face. If you live well it will show up in the magnetism of your personality. Live well. Don’t miss the nourishment of all the good things that will help you live a good life.
The inner circle. Take care of them they will take care of you. Inspire them, they will inspire you. Nothing more valuable than the inner circle. Nothing more powerful. Together you have the power to conquer the world.
If when you walk out of the house and you can feel the kiss of your daughter on your face all day long you are powerful man. That nourishment of the inner circle. If a husband walks out of the house and all day long he can feel the imprint of the arms of his wife around his body, he is invincible. He is invincible. Who can touch him?
One person caring for another is the greatest of all virtues. There are many virtues but the greatest is love. One person caring for another. Better to live in a tent by the beach with someone you love than to live in a mansion by yourself. People caring for people. Especially that inner circle. The power is so magnificent. If you draw from it. If you nourish it. Then it nourishes you.
Why network marketing? Because you cannot succeed unless you are willing to help somebody achieve. It will be you upline that you help succeed and it will be you downline that you help achieve. Capital verses Skills
In network marketing capital is not what matters. Your money does not buy you a future. It is your skills. You may have money but if you do not have any skills in networking you are still poor. If you have money but do not have ambition then where are you? If you have money and yet you have no courage you are broke.
The Philosophy of Courage
Hey, this deserves to be a philosophy. A little bit of money and a whole lot of courage is what you need in network marketing. Let’s give this another name affiliate marketing. I do not like the MLM name.
I am looking for people, I am recruiting. Here is what I am looking for. The money does not matter. What matters to me is somebody’s willingness, somebody’s ingenuity, somebody’s willingness to try. If you have a £1 to invest I tell you that is plenty for me. A £1 and some ambition and I can show you how to get rich. It will be a classic story.
I go out recruiting and a guy says to me, “I don’t have any money”. I say, “I have been looking for you for six months. Let me tell you how to do it without any money”. Here are the rules of capitalism. You can buy and sell or if you are in certain circumstances you can sell and buy. If you have got ambition. If you haven’t got any ambition I can’t help you. And by the way money won’t cure that. Money won’t cure lack of ambition.
If you’ve got a £1 and some ambition then we can work together. I will show you how to get rich. Even if you don’t have a £1 and you have ambition, I can show you how to get rich because you can sell and buy. If you say, “As soon as the product arrives I will sell it”, then you do not understand the magic of fortune. You say to yourself that you have to wait until the product arrives before you can sell it. This gets hard. You do not even understand the value of your own time.
I like Jim Rohn. When he understood that you can get rich by selling then buying, he knew instinctively that he was going to be wealthy. From his early days he gave big tips because he knew he was going to be wealthy. Tip like a rich man. Get into the mind set. Act like you are there already. It helps your confidence. Working with the Deserving
Right here is a experience that is hard to follow for many Christians. We want to help those in need. In my early times in networking I saw my brothers and sisters who needed help and thought in my excitement they would see the fantastic opportunity I saw. I persuaded many to sign up. I helped them with transport to the meetings, I loaned them money so they could move up a level. We soon had a team of 70 strong and growing. I nearly died in the process.
The Philosophy of Working with the Deserving
I had to learn in the skills of building an organization to work with those who deserved the opportunity not the people who needed it. You must be like life itself and respond to need. Following on the teachings of the Master, it does not say that if you need you will have a harvest. It doesn’t say that if you need a harvest you will have a harvest. It says that if you plant chances are good you will have a harvest. If you plant you will reap. Not if you need you will reap. So in networking we must be like life itself and respond to the people who deserve it by planting, by taking the first step. God teaches us that if we move towards Him He will move towards us. That is the condition. ‘You move towards me, I will move towards you’. Says the Almighty.
Learn to work with those who deserve it rather than those who need it. Here is the next step. Teach people how to deserve your time. Teach people how to deserve your attention. Teach people how to deserve a phone call. “Hey, Mary you take this one step I will take two steps. You take two steps I will take five steps. You don’t step, I don’t step. This is not hard. You step, I step. You respond, I respond. You try, I try. You make a call, I back you up”.
I had to learn to teach people how to deserve my time and my attention. Next. Learn to work with your group more than the individual. The reason is simple. 80% of the people do 20% of the work. 20% of the people do 80% of the business. Therefore 20% of the people you work with them individually, the 80% you work with them as a group.
The Philosophy of Helping the Many
The group is very powerful, less confrontational. As a sponsor here is another important principle. You can help a thousand but you can’t carry three on your back. Some people will try and get on your back. You know the expression, “Get off my back”. A guy discovered someone on his back and said, “Get off my back. I can’t carry you get of my back”.
You could possibly carry one or two but you cannot carry three. When babies are born they are not designed just to be carried. Babies where not designed to be carried all their lives. Someday you have to try the legs. Someday you have to try your wings. Someday you have to try. even if you fall down you have to try. You can’t just crawl around all you life. You can’t be carried all your life. You can help a thousand but you can’t carry three.
Do not expect the pear tree to bear apples. You can try and change everything. You cannot change people, but they can change themselves. You cannot change people, but they can change themselves. Incredible!

Communication
Networking implies communication. How to conduct a meeting. Learn identification. Logic and reasoning. Attack and confess. Solution. Simple deals on communication. It will not be easy. You may stand up to give your first presentation your mind will sit down. Open your mouth and nothing comes out. Here is what you do. Do it again. You will get there. Even if it takes thirty to forty five years. You will get there, just do it again.
Your first presentation will be lousy. The people might feel like going home. Don’t worry about it. Do it again, and do it again, and do it again, and do it again. That is the secret. Doing something for the first time. You learn quickly in this business.
The Philosophy of Communication
A guy stands up to give his first testimonial and he forgets his own name. Thirty days later he wants to give a three hour testimonial. You can hardly get him of the stage. Learn to communicate. How to affect people with words. It is the greatest art in the world. Affect other people with words.
Don’t be lazy in language. If you learn to use the gift of your own language wisely it can make you a fortune and build you an incredible life.
Training, learning to train people how the business works. Teach, teaching people how life works. Here are the tools we need for today’s information age. Business skill and life skills. The life skill are leadership skills, learning how to set goals. Finally the ultimate skill to acquire is learning to inspire. The skill to learn to transform your life and the life of whoever will listen. The ability to inspire. Inspire means to help people to look up. A little higher than where they are and wish they can get there. Inspire them that it is possible.
In network marketing we inspire by our own testimonial. I can do it, you can do it. Here is another way to inspire. By other peoples’ testimonials. “If they can do it, Mary you can do it”. Getting people to see themselves better than they are. Getting people to see themselves richer than they are. Getting people to see themselves more capable next year than they are this year. Getting people to see themselves in the future.
To help people and your kids, here is what you must do. Help people to see themselves as they are. People have made mistakes, they have to know it. They can’t carry on making mistakes. To achieve mistakes have to be corrected. you got to do it with your children. Help them to see themselves as they are. If they have messed up. You got to say, “You have messed up”. As a parent here is what is important. Don’t leave them in the mess. Some parents tell their kids they have messed up and leave them in the mess. They don’t paint a better picture. You can show them what they can become with just a few changes. Rather than this here is what you can be.
We must help our children see themselves as the are but the greater thing is to help them see what they can become. To transport them to their past to see what they have become but to transport them to the future to show them what they an become. To see the person they can become. I could never visualize myself as a successful man of influence but my mentors are making me see that all things are possible if I believe. Master the skill to inspire.

The next skill that you got to have in network marketing to be successful is organizing. Getting people to work together is magic. This is challenging. Getting members of the same family to work together is challenging. When it works it’s magic. Getting a wife and husband to work together is challenging but its a miracle when it happens. Everything magic is challenging. Once you figure out the challenging go for it because then the magic happens.
Philosophy of a Common Purpose
I like the Bible. “If two or three agree on a common purpose nothing is impossible” Try that on for your mental size. Do you want a challenge. ‘Let’s go do it’. Not you go do it. ‘Let’s go do it’. If two or three of us decide on a common purpose nothing is impossible. Incredible. Working together, organizing.
We are independent. We each have our own opinions. We have our own ambitions and desires. It is going to be challenging. You got a variety. That is what makes life. The variety. In network marketing it is like herding cats. Sheep are easy. Try cats. If you can make it happen the power is so immense.
The power of working together. Shared testimonials. If I have somebody new and you are there and I am there. I give my testimony and you give yours. Perhaps what tips the scale in me getting a new person is not my testimony but yours. My partners testimonial. Shared testimonials are so powerful. Working together is powerful. Working by yourself is OK. All this stuff is OK. Everybody needs to to know where are the advantages. Learn to organize. It pays big money.
Philosophy of Promotion
The next philosophy is promote. Promotion pays staggering money. The corporation comes up with major promotions. You and I have to come up with the minor promotions. The company comes up with major recognitions you have to come up with minor recognitions, for your people around you. The top five. The company recognises the top five you and I have our own top five. In different categories. Those little recognitions when achieved are major steps in achievement.
A major secret of success is in rewarding people for little steps of achievement. Rewarding people. Sometimes it’s small things. Recognition. A handshake, a pat on the back. “Thank you for doing a fabulous job”. Small steps of progress.
Promotion pays big money. Getting people to do things they would not ordinarily do by themselves. People will do some unique things by themselves. But if you can figure out a way to say, “Hey, Mary if you do this then I will do that for you”, and you get something done that would never have been done. It’s magic. She would not have thought of that on her own.
Here is what works. It is better than money. Here is what is more important than money. Ingenuity. The best place to wake up your ingenuity is in network marketing. Representing products that you believe in and sharing them to others, getting customers recruiting, promoting and all of that. Ingenuity, figuring out a way. If it doesn’t work this way we will do it another way. I use my ingenuity and believe me I am making a fortune.
The spring campaign and the summer campaign. This week we are going to recruit school teachers. How many have you got. how many have you got. This is school teacher week. This is school teacher month. Pick a little category and say, “Let’s go for it”. It does not matter what it is just dream up something. So that somebody has a little more objective to go for it.
We all need to belong to something bigger than ourselves. We furnish inspiration for something bigger and the bigger furnishes inspiration for us.
